I first tasted this cacao years ago from another chocolate maker — before Chachalate existed.
Tragically, shortly after, the Tien Giang region suffered from severe flooding, which wiped out the majority of the crop and farmland.
Finally, after nearly half a decade of regrowth and rebuilding, we are able to source some of the incredible cacao from this region from some incredible farmers.

About the Beans
Tien Giang is a province on the northern branch of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, a low-lying, tropical region with a vast network of rivers, rice paddies, and swamplands.
All the harvested cacao is tested at selection, and farmers received feedback and technical assistance throughout the harvest season. In addition to being paid rates well beyond Fair Trade prices.
