Queen's Alumni Virtual Chocolate Tasting (March 31 @ 7pm)
Virtual Chocolate Tasting Event with Chachalate and the Queen's Toronto Alumni Branch
Discover the world of real chocolate.
Event Date: Thursday, March 31, 2022 @ 7:00PM EST
Registration Deadline: Monday, March 21, 2022 @ 11:59PM EST
Did you know chocolate has more flavour compounds than coffee or wine?
Hop on a video call with our founder and chocolate maker, Ry (Queen's ArtSci '16), and learn about the history of chocolate, what real chocolate is, how we make it from the cocoa beans, decolonizing commodities, and everything in between!
We’ll try three different single-origin, two-ingredient chocolates and taste the rainbow of naturally fruity chocolate flavours.
Each chocolate is made with the same two ingredients: cocoa beans & organic cane sugar. The only difference is where the cocoa beans come from.
At Chachalate, we make naturally fruity-tasting dark chocolate, unlike any other chocolate you've ever had. We delicately roast the cacao to highlight and preserve each cocoa bean's unique personality.
In the Tasting Bundle: Our three signature Chachalate bars (Tanzania, Madagascar, India), cocoa beans, cocoa nibs, and a tasting guide.
Virtual Tasting: An exclusive one hour session with our founder, Ry (ArtSci '16). We keep the tastings casual, so there's plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.
Zoom links will be sent out one week prior to the event by QTAB.---
Order cut off is Monday, March 21 at 11:59pm EST - to ensure shipments arrive on time.
For pickups at our kitchen in North York (5000 Dufferin St), select the pickup option during checkout. We will get in touch with you to coordinate a date and time for pickup.
All of our chocolate is made without any added preservatives, soy lecithin, vanilla, dairy, eggs, or gluten. May contain traces of nuts or peanuts.

So enjoyed the chocolate tasting experience. I earned a wealth of knowledge on chocolate tasting and the chocolate making process. It made it even better that the chocolate was delicious to eat! I wanted to eat all 3 bars in one sitting!
Really enjoyed learning about how cacao is sourced and how chocolate is made. Flavours were amazing!
We really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
Learned more about chocolate and tasting then I ever thought existed. Great session that has completely changed my perception!
Interesting to find out how the chocolate we eat is made and where it comes from. Learned about the harsh realities of the chocolate trade, and it was nice to hear that Chachalate works to makes things more equitable.
Learned what actual, pure chocolate tastes like.
